Our Forests
The resulting grain is tight, tannins fine and the flavors more subtle with characteristics of warm spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. Barrels made of Tokaj oak, pair well with the more tannic and savory characteristics of French oaks. Tokaj oak tends to give a pronounced fruit lift in the mid palette.
Kádár Hungary also offers Danube oak from the wider grained forests of Southwestern Hungary. The warmer climate and generous soils provide wider grained oak with more tannins and pleasing broad oak character.
